Wild food foraging courses and walks are a great way to gain confidence with wild food and responsible take advantage of natures free wild food larder. Understand the benefits these plants have for both food and medicines, discover the wonders and uses of cooking with them to create both health and tasty meals. Wild food courses are available through out the seasons. Wild Forage is run by Fraser Christian, both an experienced wild food forager and qualified professional chef.
Wild food courses are lead by experienced and passionate instructors that have a solid and comprehensive background in there individual subjects from wild food to wild medicine, they will all happily share there rich and varied knowledge.

Wild forage walk -
This is a relaxing walk around the fields and hedgerows pausing to identifying any edible wild foods, flora, and fungi as we go, its amazing to see how much can be eaten in natures wild food larder. Uses and suitability regarding cooking or eating raw will be covered as will any cosmetic and medicinal qualities. The walk is over an approx distance of 1 mile and ends up back at the start point. (2/3 hours)

Coastal Forage - wild food walk
This is a coastal forage along a stretch of the beach taking in the tide and shore line. Identifying any edible plants, flora, and seafood as we go. The walk is over an approx distance of 1 miles and ends up back at the start point. Times vary according to tides - this course normally takes around 2/3 hours.

Forage and cook - Edible seashore course
This is a edible seashore and hedge row forage with the chance to eat the wild food we forage, all cooked on an open fire. We can prepare the foraged
foods and learn
about any healing properties they may also hold. The wild food will be accompanied with some pantry stores to create a truly tasty lunch, including a beverages using the wild flowers and plants. This is a great way to
learn how best to prepare and taste natures harvest around the open
fire in the great outdoors. This course is with Fraser, and Robin from Eatweeds.
This course runs usually starts at 9 am, and runs through until 2pm.

Wild Chef Course - Wild food cookery

Amazing
tastes and textures can be experienced on this wild food forage and
gourmet cooking experience - the morning will be spent foraging along
the sea shore collecting what ever edibles we may find, including
seaweeds, shellfish and shore plants such as sea beat and wild carrots.
Then its off to a local organic farm and sustainable skills centre "Trill Farm" to forage the wild woodland and hedgerows. The forage feast will be prepared
and cooked in front of you in the newly renovated old dairy, now a demonstration kitchen and workshop. We will produce a gourmet lunch, all this served
with some local traditional hand made breads and some fine local beverages.
Urban foraging - City Foraging walk.
Urban wild food and urban foraging courses, can show that there are loads of plants, flowers and "weeds", that can be found in gardens, hedges and even on waste ground, many of them thrive in such areas. These plants and flowers are sometimes both edible and hold medicinal qualities. These walks are circular and end up back at the start point, situated close to both pubic transport connections and car parking areas. Please enquire regarding a course in your home town or city. The urban foraging wild food walk is usually 2/3 hours long and end up back at the start point.

Foraging course for Teachers and Practitioners
This course we have developed for those who wish to gain a full and comprehensive background in coastal foraging for foods and there medicinal uses, and for the intention of teaching it as a subject, or to aid content to existing courses. This is a fully practical course. The course will cover in depth the many aspects that are need to responsible source and identify coastal wild foods and will include seafood , sea plants and shore plants. There preparation and cookery will be covered as will any medical benefits the plants found may have. The days will each cover different subject matters, that collectively combine into a full and informative practical course. The different subjects will each be demonstrated by experts in their field (or beach) as the case may be!Day 1: Marine Biology for the forager - coastal safety and tides - intertidal range of seafood and plants - basic preparation and cookery. Day 2: Correct identification or shore foods available and there uses - basic preparation, cookery and uses - medical uses. Along with a certificate of achievement, you will be presented with a DVD video diary of your days to recall on all the information covered on the course.
